Tools (OBD diagnostic devices) from various manufacturers are available for diagnosis, e.g. Bosch, Gutmann, Texa, Ross-Tech, Kaufmann Automotive GmbH or CGSULIT. Diagnosis includes reading out the fault memory of the respective control units, deleting the fault memory, coding and adjusting control units, measured values of the various installed sensors as well as values of the control circuits implemented in the control units.
A well-known and inexpensive manufacturer-specific diagnostic device for the car brands Audi, Seat, Skoda and Volkswagen vehicles is vcds .
Multi-brand diagnostics for more than 40 car brands using the manufacturer's own diagnostic protocols is made possible, for example, by the OBD-scanner from CGSULIT.
