DTC P0505: Fault in the idle charge control system

CONDITION FOR FAULT DETECTION

- The PCM cannot control the idle speed during the self-test. Diagnostic information - The malfunction indicator light does not come on. - Therefore, no PRESET CODE is available. - Frame data is not available. - The malfunction code is not stored in the PCM memory.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

- Drive-by-wire control defective - A/C cut-off control defective - Generator control system defective - Air intake line blocked

1. Air filter element clogged
2. Throttle body clogged

- Insufficient compression

1. Engine oil fault
2. Oil pressure dropped
3. Malfunction of oil metering pump
4. Malfunction of oil metering pump control
5. Engine malfunction

- Fuel pressure malfunction - PCM defective
